QuantumCamp is a cutting-edge institution of advanced learning for home school families with 3 locations in the San Francisco Bay Area in California. It employs approximately 7 people of various professional disciplines, teaching and support/administration positions. As part of QuantumCamp’s future diversification, we plan to target high school and college level in addition to our current services for elementary and middle school students.  QuantumCamp strives to bring advanced supplemental curricula to help home school families meet their educational needs. To do so, QuantumCamp employs the brightest scientists and mathematicians to create unique social learning experiences to drive home the learning experience for our students.

We are looking for a mathematician who can perform research into modern mathematics education practices and optimize our curricula to best enhance student learning using scientific techniques.  You will use knowledge of mathematics, combinatorics, optimization, calculus, linear algebra, and differential equations to create programs along with our team of mathematicians and scientists. These programs will be targeting our advanced high school and college level students and rolled out to our teaching staff. You will be expected to observe the curricula in the classroom to help improve both the student and teacher experience.

The goal is to develop a suite of interactive, user discovery based mathematics games for stimulating deep conceptual learning of higher level math topics such as derivative and integral calculus, differential equations, linear algebra and vector calculus, Fourier analysis and partial differential equations, complex analysis, numerical methods, and probability and statistics.  

You will pilot thesoftware development cycle given your unique background in mathematics study, game development. You will build protocols around requirements, design, implementation, verification, and maintenance of these unique instructional programs. 

You will ideate the pedagogical principles and learning flow anchoring the user (learner) experience. You will join our team envisioning, designing, and building the virtual mathematics labs, the digital platform where users explore causes and effects of applying mathematical rules thereby discovering sound mathematical principles. Inherent in this aspect of the role is applying mathematical theory to solve the challenge of building interactive software for self-learners of all ages to discover higher level mathematics. 

Lastly, you will be an integral part of the QuantumCamp Math Development Team. We have established a goal of devising and implementing math learning which ignites the inner mathematician in all, and propels each learner to their highest potential. We believe we are on the cusp of creating an approach to math learning which represents much more than an incremental improvement in the worldwide education space.
