Throughout the development of our education company, it was the conversations with our dedicated parents that helped motivate us forward to where we are now. As a result we are dedicated to making sure that our QuantumCampuses will retain that commitment to community that we have grow to cherish. We want our parents to feel at home with us.
To this effect we have created QuantumCafe - a place for our parents to work, relax, surf the internet, drink coffee, drink tea. Located in the QuantumCampus. We feature local coffee from the two time winner of the Best of the East Bay Coffee Roaster - Catahoula Coffee. Our teas come from the local tea importer L'amyx. |

After over a half year of searching, QuantumCamp LLC has finally found a home in the heart of Berkeley. We couldn't have asked for a better spot. Our students don't even cross the street, the exit the main terminal and voila! there we are.
Putting together the QuantumCampus has been a massive task. Already, we have classes running. We've got our whiteboards up. I think this week we get our heavy duty chemical resistant lab tables. Shelving is on its way.
And yes, we've got a few surprises coming as well. But I'm not going to be the leak.
And regretfully, neither Michael nor I can take credit for the name QuantumCampus, that came from Mr. Michael Korman, our ever helpful leasing agent. Thanks again Korman, for everything. |

It is has been awhile since Ryan or I have posted to the Blog and so I thought I would give a little summary of what has been happening over the summer. One of the most exciting things is the successful camp we ran at the St. Louis Science Center in Missouri. Ryan and a former QuantumCamper turned QuantumCamp apprentice, Jack, traveled to St. Louis and ran the course for 15 students from the Midwest. (Don't ask how we got thousands of dollars of physics equipment to Missouri.)
We also just finished up a QuantumCamp at the Chabot Space and Science center and ran other home based programs earlier in the summer. Each crew we work with continues to identify new aspects and meanings to the experiments that have not been seen before. For example, the Chabot QuantumCampers derived a new algebraic generalization for the Bohr transitions. We had a student in Palo Alto set a record of identifying 11 of the 12 elements in the Elements Challange. He would have had 12 but for a clerical error.
On top of all of this, Ryan and I have developed several other courses we are offering this fall. We continue to adhere to a philosophy of concept building through physical experience and historical context. Detailed descriptions of each workshop can be viewed in the workshop pages.
The last important activity of the summer has been to secure permanent space in downtown Berkeley. I will write more about this in my next Blog post. |

We proudly announce a free to attend QuantumSeminar designed for adults. We've streamlined much of our material to meet the time restraints that many of us adults have. We'll do some of our key experiments and show you some pretty pictures on a slide show, and when you leave, you'll know more about Quantum Physics than any lay science book or TV show could possibly offer.
| Our QuantumSeminars are held at Berkeley's best coffee shop Local 123 on Thursday May 20 from 7:30pm to 9:30pm. |

We are proud to announce three new workshops that we will now be offering. - ChemCamp™ - for students with little scientific training, they will discover the science behind the Periodic Table.
- CalcCamp™ - for students who have completed Geometry and want a head start on the mathematics of our dynamic universe.
- QuantumCamp™ 2 - at long last we have completed development of the followup course to our smash hit. In this camp students will learn what the electron is doing inside the atom and encounter the fundamental paradoxes of the quantum world.

Our summer schedule is shaping up and it looks like we will have a footprint all around the Bay Area. We are excited that so many people are interested in Quantum Physics. But more importantly we are excited about the desire of students and parents to learn science. I think that what we are capturing is this sense that hands-on learning can build conceptual knowledge faster and better than a textbook ever could. We look forward to meeting all the new students for this summer. |

QuantumCamp LLC is proud to announce the TeachBar located in the Bayfair Center in San Leandro California will host 2 weeks of Quantum Physics this summer - July 12-16 and August 16-20. The TeachBar is a wonderful venue for students to grab a cup of a fine organic tea, munch on a sandwich, and stimulate the mathematical mind. We thought QuantumCamp would fit in perfectly and are grateful to the TeachBar for opening their doors for Ryan and I to come in and run a workshop. |

Our first home workshop has come to a close - or has it?. We explored the fundamentals of the atom with 10 enterprising quantum physicists. As with all great scientists, this 30 hour exploration has not led to satisfaction and contentment, but rather a curiosity and a thirst for more data. I have a strong suspicion that our scientific relationship with this group will continue. |

Michael and I would like to thank Ask a Scientist for inviting us to speak and attempt to share our vision of Quantum Physics with a lay audience. It was really great to see so many people interested in the topic and to find so many people with a real desire to learn how it actually works. |

Michael and I have recently started two new QuantumCamp Workshops in the Berkeley area. The camps are going great. It is a real treat to have a new flock of students to go through our workshop. Together, these camps bring our total workshops to six. Quantum Physics is spreading to a new generation of youngsters. And we couldn't imagine a better place than the Bay Area to be doing this! |
